Abstract
Minute 5. Minutes of the previous meeting.
The minutes of the previous meeting, held in San Francisco in 2005, had been prepared, but not yet submitted for publication. Copies were available to be read and for any matters arising to be considered, but there were none.
Minute 6. Changes in membership.
There had been no resignations since the last meeting and no proposals for new members, save for three proposed at the previous meeting and who were to have been invited initially to serve on the working group on Vibrio taxonomy. The Chairman agreed to check on progress in this matter with the Chair of the Vibrio working group, K. Kita-Tsukamoto. Subsequently, K. Kita-Tsukamoto resigned from the Chair and B. Holmes invited I. Karunasagar (India), J. Oliver (USA) and T. Sawabe (Japan) to membership of the working group. All subsequently accepted.
B. Holmes announced that he was due to retire by the next meeting, so nominations would be sought and a ballot held with a view to a new Chairman being in place at the next meeting.

Minute 8. Report of the working group on Aeromonas taxonomy.
A previous meeting of the working group on Aeromonas taxonomy had been held in conjunction with the 8th International Aeromonas/Plesiomonas Meeting and a report produced. The 9th International Aeromonas/Plesiomonas Meeting was held on September 10–12, 2008 at Vila Real, Portugal. However, it was not known if a meeting of the working group had taken place there. Subsequently, it was revealed that the working group had indeed met and a report to the subcommittee was in preparation.
