How to subscribe

JMM Online contains the full content of each issue of the journal, including all figures and tables. In addition, the full text is searchable by keyword, and the cited references include hyperlinks to Medline and to the full text of many other online journal articles.

Online full-text content began with the September 1999 issue, and will expand with each month's new issue. Abstracts are online beginning with January 1994 issues. These have been derived from the Pubmed database which is incomplete, so some abstracts are missing.

Each issue will be placed online approximately on the date it is mailed to subscribers, so the online site may be days or even weeks ahead of your receipt of a paper copy.

In addition, the tables of contents of one or more upcoming issues are regularly placed online as a future table of contents.

This web site also provides access to information about the journal (such as Information for Contributors, the Editors, and subscription information and on-line subscription ordering), as well as access to other services.

Worldwide electronic access to each of our journals became available in 1999. Anyone using the Internet and a web browser may use JMM but full access will be included only in the cost of an institutional print subscription, at no extra charge. Online subscriptions will include access to all online content, which includes back issues. The 2002 online subscription will expire on 31 December 2002. If the subscription is not renewed or is cancelled access will be terminated.

Access will be automatically controlled by IP address and agreed site definition. If you are a subscriber at the institutional rate you will be able to register here with your subscription reference number. If you are not a current subscriber and wish to become one, you will be able to view subscription information here. It will take a little time to set up access for new subscribers.

We aim to enable convenient access for those who normally use our journals, whether in the office, in the laboratory or in the library, without introducing unnecessary restrictions. Electronic access at subscribing institutions offers users a range of benefits such as unlimited browsing, full text and cross-journal searching, downloading and printing of articles and much more. Users at non-subscribing institutions have much more limited access to the range of journal content.

We encourage you, on your first visit to the site, to sign the guestbook. This will take only a minute or two, and will give us helpful information about who the online readers are, and how they are connecting to us. In addition, we would appreciate comments, critiques, questions, or suggestions from you; these can be sent via the Feedback button found on all pages of the site. Feedback from readers will help us decide what new features would be most valuable for the site, and how well it is working for its readers.

The site is being produced in conjunction with Stanford University's HighWire Press, which also works with other medical/research journals, such as Science Magazine, the Journal of Biological Chemistry, and the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
