Optical Diffraction from Particles of Narcissus Mosaic Virus

Abstract

Optical diffraction studies of negatively stained particles of narcissus mosaic virus confirm that the protein subunits are arranged on a helix of pitch 36 Å, with a repeat period of five times the pitch, and suggest that there are 6.8 subunits per turn of the helix.
